Vernon Area Rehabilitation Center (VARC), established in the mid-1970s in Viroqua, Wisconsin, is dedicated to providing meaningful employment, skill-building, and community inclusion services for individuals with varying abilities and life barriers. As an industry leader, VARC focuses on empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their fullest potential, engage in their communities, and pursue personal goals. VARC’s commitment to its workforce and participants is evident in its investment in people, community, and enterprise, making it a cornerstone of both the disability services industry and the local economy.

CHALLENGES

VARC faced a key challenge: a lack of brand recognition within their target market. Although they provided critical services for individuals with disabilities, many in the community were unaware of the full scope of VARC’s offerings. The sensitivity required when promoting services for people with disabilities further complicated their outreach efforts. They needed a way to elevate their profile in a respectful and empowering manner without appearing to “advertise” the challenges faced by their clients. VARC sought a partner to help craft a welcoming and approachable digital space while gently increasing their visibility in the community.

SERVICES PROVIDED

• Website Design & Creation

  The goal was to build a fun and approachable website with bright, welcoming colors like orange and pink. The design featured rounded shapes and light elements to foster an inviting atmosphere. The site was also organized for ease of navigation, allowing visitors to quickly access essential information about services without feeling overwhelmed.

• Photography

  High-quality photography was a crucial part of the project, ensuring that VARC had a comprehensive library of images to use not only for the website but also for future promotional materials. These images brought VARC’s mission to life, showing both the warmth and professionalism of the organization.

• Videography

  Elevate produced a series of 60-second videos, each highlighting the different services VARC provides. The videos captured the heart of VARC’s programs, showing clients engaged in activities like reading, playing, and working in real-world occupations. The visuals emphasized smiling faces and the positive outcomes VARC facilitates for its clients.

• Additional Services

  Elevate also provided drone footage, motion graphics for the logo, and editing, further enhancing the digital presence of VARC.
